LAHORE – District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal on Sunday took serious notice of the increase in prices of fruits, vegetables and meat in some Sunday Bazaars of the City.
The DCO directed the district officer (monitoring and administration), Sunday Bazaars, to take immediate steps to reduce the prices of these items. On his direction, they took immediate action and prices of fruits, vegetables and meat were reduced in Sunday Bazaars.
Meanwhile, the DCO also took notice of the complaints about the shortage of sugar and the sale of unhygienic meat and chicken in Gulshan Ravi Sunday Bazaar, and immediately passed the instructions to administration of the same to take action and submit a report also.
On his direction, the administration of the Bazaar stopped the sale of unhygienic meat and chicken and ensured the availability of sugar there. The DCO further directed Sunday Bazaar administrations to take immediate steps against the selling of unhygienic or substandard food items there.
COLLECTION OF PARCHI FEE: The Lahore DCO said on Sunday that the collection of parchi fee from rickshaw drivers had been stopped at about 100 rickshaw and taxi parking stands in the City after the announcement by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to this effect and directions had also been issued to all officers concerned in this regard.
Mengal directed the District Officer (Public Facility) Fahad Anees to adopt necessary measures for ensuring implementation of the chief minister’s orders by directing the staff of the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) to immediately stop collection of parchi fee from rickshaw drivers.
“Strict legal action will be taken against the people charging parchi fee from rickshaw drivers,” he warned. The DCO further directed the district officer to visit parking stands and submit a report.
Mengal took notice of a complaint about charging of parchi fee at Railway Station, and ordered the district officer to take immediate legal action against the culprits and arrest them.
PAK TEA HOUSE: The Lahore DCO visited the Pak Tea House on Sunday to inspect the construction and renovation work there.
On this occasion, consultant Khawaja Mansoor Mazhar briefed the DCO about the ongoing work in detail.
Mengal also visited Lawrence Road to inspect the carpeting work there.
The district officer (roads) briefed him about the ongoing work. The DCO ordered the officers concerned to complete the construction and carpeting work of Lawrence Road within one week.
CGDL INTERVIEW DATES: The CDGL has announced the new dates for the interviews of those candidates who applied for various contractual posts from grade-1 to grade-15 in different departments.
The spokesman of the Lahore DCO said the interviews would be held from July 16 to 18 at concerned department where they submitted their applications. He further said all candidates were advised to bring their original educational certificates, CNIC and domiciles at the time of interview.
