LAKKI MARWAT - Residents of Mufti Anwar Shah street in Mohallah Haqdadabad locality of Lakki city are faced with the shortage of drinking water for the last several days.“The locality is not being supplied water on daily basis thus causing numerous problems for the dwellers in scorching heat”, residents said. It has been learnt that the electricity transformer of Tanchi office’s water supply scheme is out of order for the last several days, causing disruption in supply of water to the posh locality. But the main reason behind the scarcity of water is the low ranking employees of tehsil municipal administration are allegedly involved in illegal practice of selling water in city bazaars and markets from TMA’s water reserviour. It is lamentable to mention here that households are not getting a single drop of water because the facility has been put on sale in bazaars to mint money.Residents told that a vast portion of Mohallah Haqdadabad is connected with Begukhel power feeder hence they could not store water if supplied for a short time after three or four days due to prolong load shedding on the rural feeder. They warned that they would be compelled to launch a protest campaign if the bigwigs of tehsil municipal administration did not ensure water supply on daily basis. TMO Abdul Wahid Khattak, when contacted, said that all water supply schemes of the civic body were functional, saying that he would personally look into the complaints of non-provision of water to Mufti Anwar Shah Street in Mohallah Haqdadabad locality.3 criminals arrested Meanwhile, two wanted criminals and a drug trafficker were arrested in separate actions on Sunday.
