MULTAN - The make and break politics has reached its climax in NA-151 before by poll as both the major candidates-Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani of PPP and Malik Shaukat Hayat Bosan independent-have succeeded to win the support of key groups and personalities from the constituency.

On one hand, if Abdul Qadir Gilani succeeded to win the support of a key figure and former town nazim Makhdoom Abbas Akbar Moni Shah, Malik Shaukat Hayat Bosan did not lag behind and retaliated by winning the support of PML-N.

And now Bosan went a step ahead of Gilani as Jamaat-e-Islami also announced to support him. The political circles see the recent development as a major breakthrough for Bosan.

The announcement was made by the district amir of JI Prof Iftikhar Chaudhry in presence of Malik Shaukat Hayat Bosan’s elder brother and former federal minister Malik Sikandar Hayat Bosan during a function.

Speaking on the occasion, Sikandar Bosan said that the tenure of current assembly was about to end and the motive behind contesting this election was not to get assembly seat for this shorter period. “Rather we’ve come ahead with a vision to face a person who remained prime minister for four and a half years but failed to earn good fame because of massive corruption,” he added. He said that instead of bringing laurels to Multan, the former premier became of source of shame for this town.

Addressing the participants, Prof Iftikhar Chaudhry said that the current by election was a decisive point and the masses had to give a clear message to the world that they hated corrupt elements. He added that all the people should support judiciary. “Gillani is a black stain on the forehead of Multan and we all have to clear it through joint efforts,” he added.

President of district bar association Hafiz Allah Ditta Kashif Bosan, Dr Ashraf Ali Ateeq, Azeem ul Haq Pirzada and others also spoke on this occasion.
