KARACHI - Four people, including two political activists, were killed in the ongoing violence in the metropolis on Sunday.A worker of the MQM was gunned down in Qasba Colony within the remits of the Pirabad Police Station. Identified as Abdul Nafees, 32, the victim was returning to his residence on a motorbike, when a bike-borne armed duo opened fire on him and fled.The victim was a resident of Islamia Colony, Liaquatabad. Police officials suspected that he might have been killed over personal enmity. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to the heirs Another political workers said to be affiliated with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was shot dead within the precincts of the Iqbal Market Police Station.Police officials said the victim, Saleem Jamil, a resident of Shahbaz Nagar, Orangi Town, was on his way to home, when unidentified gunmen targeted him and fled. The victim’s brother was an active worker of the PPP. Following the incident, unidentified gunmen resorted to aerial firing, creating panic among residents. The body of was handed over to the heirs after autopsy at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.Separately, a stray bullet claimed the life of a six-year-old boy sleeping at the roof of his house in Junaid Nagar area of Orangi Town within the jurisdiction of the Pakistan Bazaar Police Station. Police officials said that Muhammad Ali was sleeping when the stray bullet hit him. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he died during treatment. Later, the body was handed over to the heirs. A case has been registered against unidentified miscreants. Separately, a 10 year-old boy, namely Rizwan Saleem, who was playing outside his home in Lines Area, died after a stray bullet hit him. No arrest could be made although a case was registered with local police.
