ISLAMABAD- Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today.
Besides operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan Agency, both also discussed overall security situation of the country and matters related to Internally Displaced Persons. General Raheel Sharif also briefed the Prime Minister on progress achieved so far in the full-scale military crackdown on local and foreign terrorists in NWA.
Pakistan’s military launched an operation in North Waziristan Agency to root out terrorism from the tribal region. The operation has led to over half a million people fleeing from the agency and taking shelter at camps. In earlier statements Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and COAS Raheel Shairf have expressed that the operation will continue till the last terrorist is eliminated.
