NAB may authorise inquiry against Bosan

ISLAMABAD - The executive board meeting of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is likely to be held in the next week to discuss important cases including inquiry authorisation against Federal Minister Sikandar Bosan, The Nation learnt reliably.

Sources told The Nation that NAB headquarters had received a request from its regional bureau Multan to authorise inquiry against Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Malik Sikandar Hayat Bosan over the allegation of assets beyond known sources. They said NAB Multan received the complaint against the federal minster while its regional board meeting approved the complaint after its verification and referred to NAB headquarters with request to authorise inquiry against him.

Sources said NAB will take up the case against the minister in its upcoming executive board meeting, which will be held most probably in coming week.

The sources said that NAB EBM will also discuss the status of inquiry against Secretary to President Shahid Khan in illegal allotment worth million of rupees in National Police Foundation. The NAB Rawalpindi Bureau had also requested the Bureau’s headquarters to upgrade the inquiry against ex-secretary interior Shahid Khan. They said that after scrutiny of the record, findings of the NAB have already established that the allotment of NPF plot to ex-federal secretary interior was illegal.

The NAB’s team also went to the interior division to interrogate the powerful ex-federal secretary. The entire record of the NPF has already been taken into custody by NAB and it has been revealed that the ex-secretary allotted NPF plot to himself in violation of rules.

The NPF has also given in written to the bureau that rules have been violated in allotment of plot to ex-secretary interior, sources added.

The sources said NAB EBM will also discuss the issue of Sharmila Farooque regarding holding of the public office and even NAB Karachi had written the letter to Sindh government that she cannot hold the public office due to plea bargain with NAB in a case.
