The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT) summer school started on Saturday which focuses on the educational, ideological and ethical performance of students. The motto of the summer school is “Love Pakistan”. NPT Secretary in his address said that TheNation Editor-in-Chief and NPT Chairman Majid Nizami, the founding chairman of the school, will formally inaugurate the 13th session of school on Monday. He said that NPT vice chairman Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad is its chief custodian. This school not only enhances physical and mental capabilities of the students but also educates the student on the Ideology of Pakistan.–Staff Reporter


All Pakistan Private Schools’ Association Joint Action Committee organized a pre-budget seminar here on Saturday.  The seminar was presided over by association’s president Hussain Abbas whereas adviser to Punjab Governor Mirza Kashif Ali was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the participants, Mirza Kashif Ali said, “We recommend federal and provincial governments to allocate and spend minimum five per cent of GDP for education and sports. Punjab University has awarded 02 PhD degrees to the scholars in which Ayesha Farooq D/o Farooq Ahmad Chaudhary in the subject of Sociology after approval of her thesis entitled “Social Structural Changes in a Punjabi Village: A Sociological Revisit after Over Five Decades” and Zahida Nasreen D/o Inayat Ullah Shah in the subject of Zoology after approval of her thesis entitled “Raising Organic Fertilizer Containing Soil Fertility Promoting Bacteria from Controller Composting of Urban Wastes’’.–Staff Reporter

Gangsters busted

CIA police claimed to have busted an inter district gang of dacoits. A spokesman for CIA said that police have also recovered booty worth Rs2 million and illegal weapons from them. He said that CCPO Lahore had assigned duty to SP CIA for arrest of accused and SP CIA further assigned this duty to Riaz Shah, DSP CIA, Iqbal Town.
