ATTOCK

Students of Allama Iqbal Open University raised a voice against the “problems they face” during the examinations being held at Pilot School here. Talking to this scribe, they said that papers were started late while the answer sheets collected from them ahead of the time prescribed. They said that the students of different classes appear in examination at this centre and no separate room/hall is allotted for different classes causing a lot of inconvenience. They also complained against inadequate light and unavailability of water. They alleged that blue-eyed students were seated in separate rooms to accommodate them regarding paper attempt. They disclosed that some of the candidates have been issued roll number slips by the AIOU authorities without photographs. They said that in the regional office, no staff is available and a watchman normally does not allow students to meet with the regional director. However, regional director of AIOU, when contacted, said that superintendents and staff had been appointed as per the rules at the exam centres and these centres were also being monitored by the authorities concerned. He denied the allegation of favouritism.
