ISLAMABAD- Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Saturday said that interior ministry would ensure enhanced coordination and intelligence sharing with all the provinces for better law and order situation in the country.

While talking to media persons before taking charge of his office, Nisar said that coordination as well as cooperation with the provinces would be improved with regard to law and order situation. "The ministry will ensure full cooperation with all provinces, especially with the provincial governments of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, setting aside any political interests," he added. He also said neither he would interfere in any one's working nor he would politicise the official affairs of the ministry. "I will play my role under the constitution and the law," he argued.

The minister said that he would soon announce his plan of action after having a briefing from the subordinate departments of the interior ministry. Nisar said that he was holding the charge of the ministry after consultations with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the masses would soon see improvement and change as well.

The minister assured thatIslamabadCapitalTerritorywould be made a model district for the rest of the country. He said that a meeting of the officers of the ministry had been called on Sunday for briefing and he would also have a briefing with the subordinate departments of the ministry on Monday.

Later on, the minister formally took the charge of his office and Secretary Interior Raja Mohammad Abbas as well as other senior officers of the ministry briefed the minister about the functioning and performance of the ministry. The minister addressing the meeting said that interior ministry was important and sensitive in its work and it role as well as performance was very significant in the wake of the present circumstances being faced by the county. He desired that the officers would give 100 per cent output. He also said that neither will he ask anyone among his subordinates to serve his political interests nor does he expect from them to do any illegal act.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan drew the contours of their future strategy to handle the overall law and order situation in the country.

In the meeting which held here at Prime Minister's House, Premier Nawaz has also asked the interior minister to come up with a detailed presentation of his ministry's future action plan so that priorities could be set for bringing normalcy in the country.

The minister said that the ministry would continue to cooperate with all provincial governments and provide them all possible assistance in the maintenance of law and order situation. He said that officers of proven integrity and competence would be appointed in the ministry of interior and they would be expected to uphold merit and deliver.

The federal minister informed the Prime Minister that a detailed presentation would be made to him on the ministry of interior shortly to seek his guidance.

The Prime Minister expressed the hope that effective measures would be taken by the ministry of interior so that the people could feel the change for themselves.

Meanwhile, Mumtaz Ali Khan Bhutto also held meeting with Mian Nawaz Sharif on Saturday morning at Prime Minister's House. Bhutto congratulated the Prime Minister on the assumption of the office of the Prime Minister and discussed the prevailing situation in the country.

The Prime Minister said that his government would do its utmost to solve the problems of the entire country, irrespective of who is in power in the provinces. He further said that all decisions would be taken in the best national interest and for the common good of all so that the country is steered out of the crisis.
