A notorious cattle-lifter was killed in a shootout with the villagers near Mochiwala the other night.

According to villagers, three armed cattle-lifter raided the haveli of Sabir Kamboh and lifted away some cattle heads. Meanwhile, the villagers woke up and challenged them but the accused open firing. In retaliation the villagers also opened firing as a result of which one of the raiders killed on the spot, who were later identified as Riasat while the other two managed to escape the scene. The police have registered a case and are investigating.

Meanwhile, a villager was seriously injured by three armed bandits near Mutteke Bridge.

According to Muhammad Bashir, son of Muhammad Sharif was on way to Pindi Bhattian on his tractor and when he reached canal bridge of Mutteke, three armed dacoits intercepted him and on his resistance they shot at and seriously injured him. The police are investigating.
