PESHAWAR - Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukatullah Governor on Saturday pointed out that every possible step was underway to develop and improve infrastructure facilities in Fata.

He said this while talking to a number of tribal elders and youth hailing from different parts of Bajaur, Momand and South Waziristan agencies, who called on him at the Governor House, Peshawar. Amongst others, Malik Abdul Aziz of Waziristan and Malik Sanan and Haji Dostan of Momand Agency met governor.

Apprising the governor about the problems being faced by the people, the delegates particularly mentioned their future needs in respect of educational, health, road construction, provision of potable water and maintenance of law and order.

The governor said that every possible step would be taken in view of the prevailing state of deficiencies and requirements in every field of life.  Over the last couple of months, he said that it was his utmost effort to mobilise all the available means to bring the portfolio of ongoing schemes to the minimum possible level in Fata and a highly positive outcome was expected by the end of the current financial year.  This strategy, he remarked, would be of great benefit to make timely and best utilisation of resources and launch new projects in the light of immediate as well as long term needs of the people. 

The governor while mentioning the requirements in health sector said that provision of treatment facilities to thousands of patients suffering from Hepatitis “B” and “C” in particular and said that he had already started solid measures to ensure better healthcare facilities to all the patients hailing from across the Fata. 

He, however, also made the elders conscious about the severity of the problems and stressed them to educate the people not only in getting proper treatment facilities but also adopting pre-cautionary measures to avoid this problem.

 Responding to various demands, the governor said that he has been constantly reviewing the pace of progress on major development projects and no effort will be spared to ensure timely completion of all the major projects especially which relates to construction of small dams and roads network in Bajaur Agency.
