Asghar Khan case: Nawaz, Siraj submit replies in SC

Islamabad: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Jamaat Islami Chief Sirajul Haq have submitted their responses in the Supreme Court (SC).

The apex court had summoned both political leaders' in Asghar Khan case to seek their reply on allegations against them.

The former prime minister while rejecting allegations made it clear in his statement that he didn’t receive any money from former Spymaster Asaad Durrani and Yunus Habib whereas Sirajul Haq refused to accept the allegations against him.

The former prime minister said that he didn’t receive Rs3.5 million from Asaad Durrani or any other person on his behalf.

He further said that the allegation against him of taking Rs 6 million from Yunus Habib is also wrong. Nawaz Sharif further said that he had recorded his statement before an FIA team on October 14, 2015.

The JI chief in his reply said the JI never receive any money from ISI, adding the JI became party in the case voluntarily, declaring allegations against JI fabricated.

The Supreme Court had summoned former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Javed Hashmi, Abida Hussain and 21 others along with the officers of different agencies to submit theri written replies by 9 June in Asghar Khan case.
