LAHORE - Candidates from different political parties continued getting and submitting nomination papers for general and reserved seats in Lahore on Friday.
As many as 203 candidates have so far filed nomination papers for seats reserved for women and minorities in National and provincial legislatures from Punjab. As many as 35 candidates have submitted papers for reserved seats in NA, 87 for seats reserved for women in PA and 87 for minorities. PTI’s Dr Shireen Mazari, Andleeb Abbas, Rubina Shaheen, Samina Zaib, Saima Tariq, Palwasha Khan, Mehak Nadeem, Samina Zahid, Tariq Gill, Shahneela Ruth, Jeorge Masih, Shahzad Munshi, Jorge Kliment and Sania Ahmed were amongst prominent candidates contesting for reserved seats.
So far 70 candidates have submitted nomination papers for 30 PA seats in Lahore. More than 800 candidates have obtained nomination papers for PA seats in the provincial constituencies. PTI’s Mian Aslam Iqbal, Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, Shoaib Siddiqi, Umar Talib, Mian Iftikhar and PML-N’s Waheed Gull were prominent amongst 70 candidates contesting on provincial constituencies.
PTI workers welcomed Mian Aslam Iqbal with slogans when he reached district courts for submitting nomination papers.
Talking to media, Mian Aslam Iqbal said that Shahbaz Sharif has given irresponsible statement on loadshedding.
He said that the party would get landslide victory on the basis of manifesto and good track record.
