Sharjeel violates PCB’s laws

Karachi  - Suspended Pakistan opening batsman Sharjeel Khan has violated the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) rules and regulations. The southpaw participated in the ongoing All Pakistan T20 League in Hyderabad. He wasn’t supposed to play any professional cricket while serving the ban.

Moreover, the ban imposed on him by the PCB prevents him from playing any professional leagues during the suspension period. However, the left-handed batsman Sharjeel participated in the competition only to jeopardize his career further. It will interesting to see how Board deals with the current situation.

The aggressive batsman Sharjeel has been banned from playing cricket for five long years. In that period he is not allowed to play any domestic and international matches. The time span applies for the next two-and-a-half-years. Sharjeel is currently under the observation of the PCB. After violating PCB’s laws, the stylish batsman can be seen playing for the Board’s affiliated Ramazan Cricket tournament in Hyderabad.

The tournament is organized by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) in collaboration with the PCB. The rules in the tournament have been led down by Hyderabad. One of the finds of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Ibtisam Sheikh is also playing the tournament alongside Sharjeel. The inclusion of international level players definitely increases the value of the tournament. It was due to his alleged involvement in the spot-fixing scandal which marred the PSL. The tournament was held earlier in the year. Sharjeel was directly sent back home and was suspended with immediate effect. The left-hander was playing for the Islamabad United (IU).

Sharjeel was charged with five major breaches owing to the anti-corruption code of the PCB. Burly Sharjeel was found guilty on all the five counts. The probe was carried out by a three-man tribunal. It must be noted that out of the five years, two and a half years are suspended.

Hence Sharjeel Khan, who is currently 28 can only plan to return to professional before not before the second -half of 2019. He was present when he was handed the punishment. However, he remained silent and did not answer any questions.
