DFPO offers all postal, financial services to its customers

ISLAMABAD  -  The Digital Franchise Post Offices (DFPOs) is offering all postal services both domestic and international as well as more than 200 financial services to its customers. The DFPO programme is gaining popularity due to which more than 20,000 entrepreneurs applied for the franchises.

An official told APP that Pakistan Post has granted special permission to offer a host of exciting value-added products and services such as photostat, sale of items such as stationary, confectionary, grocery, mobile accessories, stamp vending, notarisation and any other product/service not competing with services of Pakistan Post. This will encourage more entrepreneurs to join the programme and start a profitable and respectable business with a very small capital investment. He said since inception of programme, more than 2200 Digital Franchises have set up in various major cities.

He said the successful applicants were also provided a month long training about the state-of-the-art technology infrastructure. These Digital Franchise Post Offices provide quality of services at par with the private courier services at extremely competitive prices. The DFPO programme has been launched in line with the current government’s vision to reform the state institutions and transform Pakistan Post into a profitable organisation; living up to its potential and legacy of service excellence that has kept it alive as a household name in every corner of the country.

Meanwhile, The exchange rate of Pakistan rupee weakened by 49 paisas against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Tuesday and closed at Rs155.78 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs155.31. According to Forex Association of Pakistan, the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs155.25 and Rs156.25 respectively.

Similarly, the price of euro was appreciated by 87 paisas and closed at Rs189.70 against the last day’s trading of Rs188.83, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.

The Japanese Yen gained one paisa to close at Rs1.42, whereas an increase of 98 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs220.36 as compared to its last closing of Rs219.38.

The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 13 paisas each to close at Rs 42.41 and Rs 41.53 respectively.
