LAHORE - The lawyers representing the American killer of two Pakistanis, Raymond Davis, were on Tuesday provided with complete record of the case, which also included the charge-sheet against him. Earlier an additional district and sessions judge took up the high-profile case in heavily-guarded Kot Lakhpat Jail. Raymond, the contractor being portrayed as diplomat who shot dead two people on a crowded Jail Road on January 27, was present in the courtroom, handcuffed. Lawyers Shahzad Mazhar and Naseeruddin Nayyer confirmed the receipt of the record and sough time from the court to prepare the case. ADSJ Muhammad Yousaf Aujla adjourned the hearing till March 16. The court informed Daviss lawyers that on next hearing charges would be framed against the accused. During the hearing, a counsel appeared before the court on behalf of the deceased Faizans widow and submitted power of attorney as complainant. The law-enforcement agencies cordoned off the premises. The media persons were, as before, kept away from the trial proceedings. Only US Consul General Carmela Conroy and two other Americans were allowed to witness the trial proceedings. Raymonds lawyers once again claimed diplomatic immunity for their client. However, the court said it had already informed them that so far it had not received any order from the superior courts on the subject. Zardari offices case adjourned: A Lahore High Court full bench on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on different petitions challenging the political office of President Asif Ali Zardari. Earlier, the petitioners counsel A.K. Dogar advocate submitted his reply to an application objecting the use of the word Pakistan by his law firm, Pakistan Lawyers Forum. Dogar said in the reply that the applicant should contact Punjab Bar Council as the high court is not the suitable and exact forum for such matters. A local lawyer Afaq Ahmad had filed an application and stated that petitioners counsel A.K Dogar should first explain to the court as to why he had used word 'Pakistan in the name of his legal firm in violation of Punjab Bar Council. Advocate Afaq pleaded that PbBC rules say that word 'Pakistan in name of a lawyer firm/organization is illegal and professional misconduct on part of a lawyer heading the legal firm. He prays to court to cancel legal practicing license of Mr. Dogar for adopting word Pakistan in his firm title. Expose Bhattis killers: Lahore High Court Bar Association in a resolution has demanded the federal government to expose hands behind the murder of federal minister Shahbaz Bhatti and give exemplary punishment to murderers. The Bar also declared interior minister Rehman Malik a security risk and urged federal government to remove him immediately from is ministry. The bar said that all agents of CIA and Black Water should be kicked out of country and US national Raymond should be awarded with punishment for killing Pakistanis. Advocate Robinson tabled the resolution which was passed unanimously as it added that country is facing sever law and order situation. Resolution further said that killing of the minister had exposed the inefficiency of the government as Bhatti was fighting for rights of the minorities in Pakistan. Addressing to lawyers, LHCBA president Asghar Gill said that terrorists have no religion and masses should remained united to curb terrorism from the country. Ashghar further said that Black Water and other such organizations are involved in incidents of terrorism. LHCBA secretray Arshad Awan Malik said Bhatti was a noble citizen of Pakistan and he was gunned down by enemies of Pakistan who are busy just to destroy the country.
