ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani reiterated the commitment of the government to continue the policy of reconciliation and said that they would continue to take along all the political forces on the issues of national importance. The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, who called on him here at Prime Minister House. Syed Khursheed Shah, Minister for Religious Affairs, was also present in the meeting. The Prime Minister said that dialogue with all the stakeholders would continue, as it was the only way to find out the workable solution for all the issues including the political ones. Sources aware of the deliberations of the meeting informed The Nation that Prime Minister Gilani had asked Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to address the genuine grievances of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, main coalition partner in Sindh government, and expressed his concern over the decision of MQM to quit the Sindh government. He further asked the Sindh Chief Minister to have stiff grip over the PPP ministers in his cabinet and not let them give lousy and provocative statements against their key coalition partner. He further said directed Syed Qaim Ali Shah to play his role in defusing the tension with MQM and take immediate steps to address the genuine concerns of the MQM and said that he would also play his role in appeasing the estranged coalition partner. He made it loud and clear that the government would not let MQM to quit the Sindh government and would address their genuine concerns. He said they would not only bring them back in the Sindh government but also bring them back in the federal cabinet as well. The PM observed that the government was taking all allies and other political parties on board to strengthen democracy in the country. The tradition of accommodating each other was necessary to restore peace in the troubled areas of the country, said the Prime Minister. Both the leaders discussed the political situation of the country. The Chief Minister Sindh apprised the Prime Minister of the rehabilitation of flood-affected people in the different parts of Sindh.
