LAHORE – The Inspector General of Police Punjab Habibur Rehman on Thursday marked the centenary of International Women’s Day by reinstating the services of 18 Lady Traffic Wardens including three police inspector.

Police sources said that the Punjab police chief Habibur Rehman reinstated the services of all the 18 women police officers just four after the CTO Sarfraz Falki suspended the services of these policewomen.

The CTO on Thursday suspended the services of 18 traffic police officers after they were found absent from their place of duty.

Those suspended include Lady Traffic Inspector Aneesa Rashid, Nabeela and Nazia Baqir and Lady Traffic Wardens Ayesha Sarwar, Fatima, Sidra Batool, Farzana, Iram, Sunbal, Munira, Sidra Ilyas, Sadia, Fozia Rafique, Razia, Riffat Awan, Saba, Sidra and Bushra.  Police sources believed that the IGP also admonished the newly-appointed CTO for punishing the women police officers on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Police officials said the IGP hailed the women particularly, those serving in the police on the occasion of the International Women’s day. In his message, he saluted the mothers and sisters of the country on the occasion and hailed their sacrifice, affection, patience and perseverance to make the family & society happy and prosperous.
