ISLAMABAD - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Syed Munawar Hassan has lashed out PPP-led government policies, saying that this unpatriotic government is all set to reopen NATO supply route as it has no capability to resist US pressure any more.

“Incumbent government lied with the nation saying NATO supply has been suspended whereas air route is open for supply,” said JI chief Munawar Hassan, talking to TheNation. Munawar Hassan said that PPP-led government has no ability to resist US pressure which it is mounting every passing day. “The PPP government on any pretext will reopen Nato supply as they give no value to their commitments and emotions of people,” JI chief said, adding that present government take dictation from US and implement orders in ‘letter and spirit’.

To a question, Munawar Hassan said that JI would definitely register its protest against reopening of Nato supplies. “One can expect every such step from this government but any relief to the masses can not be expected,” he added.

When asked about proposal of snap polls, he said that this government is not trustworthy as it might further delay it to gain more time for their ‘meaningful purposes’. “It is also expected government might create any situation to delay polls,” he said. JI chief also criticised main opposition party from changing its stance regarding  ‘Go Zardari go campaign’.

To a question about bogus voter lists issue, Munawar Hassan said that Jamaat-e-Islami’s delegation held detailed meeting with Election Commission (EC) concerned official on this issue.
