KARACHI - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has demanded suspending the results of the elections in constituencies where women were barred from voting.

Addressing MQM women workers, supporters and sympathisers on International Women’s Day at Lal Qila ground here on Thursday, Altaf Hussain said that several women were not allowed to cast their votes in the by-elections, which was tantamount to violation of the constitution. He regretted that the Election Commission had kept silent on this violation of the constitution. MQM Chief strongly condemned the declaring women karis by a tribal jirga in Shikarpur. He said that MQM would hold a women rally in Lahore and called Oscar-winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is the pride of Pakistan.
