LAHORE – Speaking in the context of water scarcity facing the country, TheNation Editor-in-Chief and Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Chairman Majid Nizami has asked the Army to wage war against India to stop its water aggression against the country.

“The only solution to the problems is a war with hostile neighbour,” he held while addressing a sitting on “Indian Water Aggression and Threat to Pakistan” at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan here on Thursday. The sitting was jointly organised by the NPT and Pakistan Movement Workers’ Trust. Majid Nizami said we had to think at the time when India had occupied Kashmir, but now we have to act. He regretted that had the British Commander obeyed the orders of Quaid about attack in Kashmir, the situation would have been different.

Majid Nizami demanded of the government and the Army to establish a separate “Water Division” comprising youth to exclusively fight with India on water issues. He said if we wanted to save our agriculture land. India, he added, was constructing 70 dams on rivers in Kashmir and now was Chenab’s turn. Engineer Najeeb claimed that being the President of Pakistan, Asif Zardari declared in a meeting that he (Asif Zardari) could not make angry India by constructing mega water projects in Pakistan. He said 75 per cent of the world comprised water and 3 per cent of this water was drinkable. He said the storage capacity of the existing dams had been reduced to dangerous level. And if we failed to construct new mega projected including Kalabagh Dam, the country’s land would turn into barren, he added.Dr Rafique said the enemies of country had constantly been hatching conspiracies to bring its sovereignty at stake. In this situation, he urged, the nation should be united and especially the youth should come forward to save the future of Pakistan.  Yaqoob Bhatti advocated the immediate need for the construction of KBD and other mega water projected to save the agriculture and economy of Pakistan.
