KARACHI - Police found body of a woman near Afghan Camp in the limits of the Gulshan-e-Maymar Police Station on Thursday.

Police officials said the body was recovered from bushes in Taiser Town. According to SHO Ali Ahmed Bugti, the victim received four bullets on her face. Unidentified gunmen killed her in the wee hours of Thursday and fled the scene.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities and later moved to the Civil Hospital (CHK) for postmortem. The officer said the victim appeared to be a 25 years old Afghan. He said the victim was wearing a traditional Afghani suit. Later, the police moved the body to a morgue for identification and registered a case against the unidentified killers.

Separately, a man was shot dead and another injured in North Nazimabad in the limits of the Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan Police Station. The incident took place at Block I, North Nazimabad, where unidentified men opened indiscriminate firing. As a result, two motorcyclists, namely Zareen, son of Abdul Mateen, and Kashif, 27, son of Abdul Shakoor, received bullet injuries. They were ferried to the ASH for medical treatment, where Zareen succumbed to his injuries. Police officials said the victim was a resident of New Karachi. The victim was nominated in several cases of robberies and was arrested by the police a couple of months ago.

The officials suspected that he might have been killed by his accomplices over a monetary row. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
