PESHAWAR - Pakistan Sikh Youth Council and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Women Wing here on Thursday appealed to President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take notice of forcibly converting a Hindu girl to Islam and then arranging her forced marriage by an influential family in Sindh.

They warned of launching a protest demonstration across the province, if the girl was not provided with justice. Pakistan Sikh Youth Council Chairman Ramshan Singh Toni and PTI Women Wing Secretary Information Asmat Khattak while speaking at a joint press conference said that some days back a Hindu girl identified as Rinkal Kumari, daughter of Sayee Nand Lal, resident of Matio village of Mirpur in Sindh was forced to embrace Islam. Later, she was forced to marry a Muslim boy. They said that it was a regretful act, as Islam does not allow forced embracing of Islam. They said that in the recent past a total of 25 Hindu girls have been forced to embrace Islam. Due to this trend in the area, over 800 Hindu families have left this area and shifted to other localities, they said.

They appealed to President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry to take note of the situation and make the girl free from those influential people detention, they concluded.
