KATHMANDU – The Nepal Army is going to organise sports competition with the purpose of increasing mutual relations among armies of South Asian region, reported The Himalyan Times.

At a press meet organised by the Nepal Army here on Thursday, it was said that the competition is going to be organised from March 9 to 14.

The competition is going to be organised for the first time in the history of South Asian armies where Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal would participate.

Different games including football, volleyball, badminton, athletics, boxing, among others, have been included in the competition.

Spokesperson of the Nepal Army Brigadier General Ramindra Kshetri expressed the confidence that relations between the armies of the South Asian region would be developed from the competition. A total of 59 army personnel of the Nepal Army, 33 of Bangla-desh, 37 of Pakistan, 64 of Sri Lanka and 58 from India would compete in the competition.
