LAHORE – Governor Latif Khosa paid rich tributes to the legendary classical singer Reshma and said that she was the greatest artiste of the era. Her silken sound that surfaced from the desert land of Sindh was behind countless folk songs that gave them an identity. He also announced that he would recommend Reshman’s name for the Presidential Award. He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held in honour of Reshma under the aegis of Radio Pakistan on Thursday.

Radio Pakistan Director General Murtaza Solangi, Munno Bhai, film star Mustafa Qureshi and Shujat Hashmi also expressed their views on the occasion. The Governor said that the voice of Reshman had magic in it that not only entertained thousands of art lovers of the subcontinent but also promoted rich culture of the country. He said that Reshman by singing songs in local languages had made them heartbeat of thousands of people.  He said like Shaheed ZAB and Benazir Bhutto, President Zardari also had a spirit to promote Pakistani culture. Khosa said, “Credit to introduce rich voice of Reshman goes to Radio Pakistan.”
