MEMBER of the legal experts committee constituted to finalise the draft resolution for judges' reinstatement, Abdul Hafeez Pirzada has said that PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif have been contacted once again, as the committee could not make any progress to resolve the issue. "The matter has been referred to Nawaz and Zardari, because it was decided in Dubai round of talks that they will be contacted in case of any deadlock between the committee experts," he said. Talking to a private TV channel on Thursday, Pirzada said that the committee could not make any headway in its deliberations, because most of its experts had divergent views about the modalities. "I believe that the reinstatement of judges needs a constitutional amendment and the resolution only will not be enough to settle the issue, while Supreme Court Bar Association President Aitzaz Ahsan is of the view that neither a resolution nor any executive order is required to bring the judges back in their pre-Nov-3 position," he said. Pirzada said that the resolution draft was a political document. "My and Aitzaz's advice is not included in the preparation of the draft resolution draft," he said, adding it had been said that all the committee members would be provided the agreed resolution draft on Thursday, but he did not receive a copy so far.
