RAWALPINDI - Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa, while taking strict notice of the poor sanitary conditions, mismanagement and failure to supply medicines to the patients, has ordered suspension of Medical Superintendent (MS) of Rawalpindi General Hospital (RGH) Dr Habib Ahmed Khan and Medical Officer Dr Naeem of Emergency Ward. He also issued instructions to the Health Secretary to appoint competent and hard-working doctors in their place. The Chief Minister, while going to Punjab House, Rawalpindi, from Pak Secretariat on Thursday paid surprise visit to the hospital and New Town Police Station and viewed the situation. According to the details, Punjab CM Sardar Dost Muhammad first reached PS New Town where DSP Sabir Nadeem and SHO Asghar Ali Goraya were present on their duties. Sardar Dost Muhammad checked the Roznamcha and First Information Report (FIR) Register and observed that most of the cases registered with the police station were related to car-lifting. At this, the Chief Minister asked the SHO that what kind of measures he had taken to control the car-lifting. The SHO Goraya replied that police had busted many gangs involved in car lifting and more pickets were being established to protect the property and lives of the people. He also visited lockup of the police station and asked the accused regarding their crimes while the police official told the CM that three out of these accused were involved in car lifting cases. On this occasion, Sardar Dost Muhammad appreciated SHO's efforts to curb the crimes and directed him to continue his drive against the anti-social elements. He also directed the police officials to give more respects to the citizens had who come police station to register their complaints. "Police stations play pivotal role to protect and care the masses and in this regard, no complaint would be tolerated," he remarked.
