On the other hand two unidentified motorcyclists dropped a bundle of pamphlets outside district courts containing a writing about Rashid Rehman’s killing and fled. District Bar sources said that the pamphlet warned the lawyers of taking cases like the one Rashid Rehman was pursuing. “He (Rashid Rehman) tried to protect a blasphemy accused and he has faced the consequences,” the pamphlet read.

Another lawyer namely Nadeem Parwaz and a client Afzal, who were also present in the chamber at the time of incident, also received bullets. The assailants managed to escape. The post-mortem report of the deceased revealed that he received three bullets but the one that hit his head proved fatal.

The deceased lawyer Rashid Rehman was consul of a blasphemy accused Junaid Hafeez and he had received life threats from unidentified persons.
