ISLAMABAD - Ambassador of Netherlands to Pakistan, Marcel de Vink informed the Minister for Textile Industry Abbas Khan that the Netherlands Minister for Trade and Development would be visiting Pakistan. On that occasion, the embassy and the ILO would be organizing a Round Table Conference with stakeholders.  Ambassador of the Netherlands to Pakistan Marcel de Vink stated this during a call on meeting with Federal Minister for Textile Industry Abbas Khan Afridi.  The Envoy said that Pakistan is a valuable trade partner for Netherlands. He requested the Minister of Textile Industry to participate in the Conference as Chief Guest.

The structure of the Conference was discussed in detail, and the Minister consented to attend the Conference as Chief Guest.

The Federal Minister said that the textile industry constitutes an important sector of economy of Pakistan. He assured the ambassador that Netherlands as a country held in high esteem by the people of Pakistan.

 Both the sides agreed that every possible support will be extended to assure and strengthen trade ties between the two friendly countries.

The ambassador was also accompanied by Fransesco Davidio, Country Director of ILO (International Labour Organization) in Pakistan.

Davidio apprised the minister that the ILO was keen to work in Pakistan for development and implementation of compliance standards.
