A European Union delegation reaffirmed its commitment to support people-to-people interaction and dialogue across the Line of Control.

The team from the European Union to Pakistan led by acting EU Ambassador Stefano Gatto met with the representatives of local civil society members, educationists and businessmen in Muzaffarabad to share their views on the current situation in AJK and discuss possible ways forward to further strengthen cross-LoC people to people contacts.

Centre for Peace, Development and Reforms (CPDR) Executive Director Ershad Mahmud told reporters that the EU delegation reaffirmed its commitment to support the Kashmiris in this regard.

"Besides the deputation of CPDR, representatives from across AJK including Prof Syed Dilnawaz Ahmad Gardezi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Amjad Yousaf Khan met with the EU delegation and discussed the matters of related mutual interests including the internal AJK affairs as well as the issues of exchange of trans-LoC trade and travel between both the sides of the Line of Control.
