Rawalpindi - A team of district health department (DHD) along with local police sealed a factory where impure honey was being prepared and seized 40-kg rotten meat from the shop of a butcher, sources informed here on Friday. The raiding team, headed by District Food and Sanitary Inspector Shahid Mehmood, also confiscated huge quantity of glucose, sugar and other material from the honey-making factory.
According to details, a team of DHD along with local police conducted a raid at a factory in Pirwadhai where impure honey was being prepared. The team sealed the factory and seized more than 20 tins of glucose, sugar and other stuff during the action.
However, the police held no owner or worker of the factory, sources added.
In another raid, the team arrested a butcher at Lohara Road on account of selling unhygienic meat. The team also confiscated more than 40 kg rotten meat from the shop and later discarded it, sources said. Cases were registered against the owner of honey-making factory and the butcher while further investigation was underway, a police officer informed.
