Islamabad - Aabpara police have registered a case against two persons over extortion charges.

According to details, the police booked Manazir Mahmood and Raja Asad under section 386, 387, 34 as they used to collect Rs 50 per trip from each route-122 wagon at Aabpara wagon stand. The action was taken on the complaint of the wagon owners and drivers. However, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Javed has become complainant in the case. The police are yet to arrest the accused.

Furthermore, Islamabad police have arrested seven outlaws and ten suspects during high vigilance in the city, besides recovering 2.25-kilogram hashish, 20 litres wine and stolen property from their possession, a police spokesman said.

He said that IGP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan directed all SDPOs and SHOs to enhance patrolling as well as checking in various areas of the city and conduct search operation at slums, Afghan habitats, under-construction buildings, workshops, bus stands and inns.

Following his directions, police teams conducted search operation in the areas of Lakahwal and Banigala and succeeded to nab 10 suspects who are being investigated further. Police teams of Aabpara, Ramana and Sihala arrested seven accused namely Javed, Wajid, Shakeel, Zulfiqar, Iqbal, Shafique, Asif Khan and Amin, besides recovering 2.250-kilogram hashish, 20 litres alcohol and stolen property from their possession.
