Rawalpindi - Police have arrested 11 persons on violation of marriage ordinance, a police spokesman said yesterday.
New Town police held Iftikhar and Amar as they were allegedly involved in display of fireworks. Police also recovered fireworks items from their possession. Race Course police arrested Rehan and Salahuddin and recovered a Kalashnikov and 70 rounds while Civil Line police nabbed Aamar and Afzal on violation of marriage ordinance.
Meanwhile, Taxila police rounded up Imtiaz, Nawabzada and three females who were allegedly involved in immoral activities. Separate cases have been registered against the violators of Marriage ordinance.
Meanwhile, police have arrested seven gamblers and recovered Rs 80500 cash stake money, four mobile phones and other items from their possession.
According to a police spokesman, Kahuta police acting on a tip-off conducted a raid in Aahel area in its jurisdiction and arrested seven gamblers namely accused Tayyab, Safaqat, Amjad, Rashad, Nasrullah, Qasim and Shakeel who were allegedly involved in betting while playing cards. A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation is underway.
