2 persons die of Covid-19 in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi-Two persons died of coronavirus in the city here on Saturday.
They said Afsar Khan, 74, resident of city, died at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on Saturday where he was admitted from on May 7.     
Sahbun Nisa, 76, resident of Gulshan Colony Taxila, died at Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital on Saturday where she was admitted from on May 7, sources added.
Meanwhile, slow testing in the garrison city by government health facilities forced people to go for private tests and still 683 results were awaited in the city.   
Total 96 patients tested positive of the deadly virus and 340 persons were discharged from the hospital. Total 950 suspected persons arrived in the hospitals during last 24 hours, 96 tested positive and 128 were declared negative while the remaining tests are awaited.   
In Rawalpindi district, there are 1453 active patients. Total 159 patients are in the hospitals including 51 belonging to other districts. Total 1,294 patients were isolated in their homes. However, total 683 patients are waiting their results of coronavirus serology.   
Most patients of Covid-19 were brought from the garrison city as 64 were reported so out of 96 total new patients. As many as 17 patients are from cantonment area and 20 from Potohar Town and 27 from Rawal Town.   
Eleven patients arrived from Gujar Khan, 13 patients from Kallar Syedan, one from Kotli Sattian and two from Murree. Two patients each arrived from Islamabad and AJK and one from Jhelum.   
The new patients of Covid-19 were admitted in different hospitals of Rawalpindi city including 30 patients admitted in Holy Family Hospital, 29 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 68 in Rawalpindi Institute of Urology, 23 in Fauji Foundation Hospital, seven in Hearts International Hospital  and two in Begum Akhter Rukhsana hospital.   
Eight patients are on ventilators in Rawalpindi, 113 are on Oxygen and 38 are stable.
