KARACHI - Fire broke out in a textile mill, which was closed for the last many years, on Thursday. Losses of millions were reported. Though, no loss of life was reported but machinery and merchandise worth millions of rupees went up in smoke before the firemen doused the blazes. The mill is situated at Block-B, North Nazimabad. Five fire tenders took part in the operation. They extinguished fire after the struggle of two and a half hour. According to fire fighters, the mill where the fire broke out was closed for the last several years but there was only huge quantity of machinery and merchandise worth millions of rupees were present at the mill. People living in the nearby homes were also evacuated to avoid any untoward incident while the cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained.
