FAISALABAD - The youth is the only ray of hope for the bright future of the country as they will act as a catalyst for development and transforming it into the state envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.

the A state-of-the-art cricket academy will be established at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) with the aim to equip the local youth will modern techniques and skills to become international cricketers. The announcement was made by Punjab Sports Board Chairman MNA Hamza Shahbaz while addressing the participants of laptop and internship letter distribution ceremony under the Punjab Youth Laptop and Internship Programme here at D-Ground on Thursday.

Hamza Shahbaz said that the proud youth of the province by participating in the Punjab Youth Festival had stunned the world by making 11 world records that was a testament of their immense talent and future ambitions. Highlighting various initiatives of the Punjab government, the PML-N said that besides recruitments of thousands educators on merit, making the education accessible and affordable for the poor children of far-flung and neglected areas through Daanish Schools and provision of scholarships by the Punjab Education Endowment Fund, his party was providing numerous opportunities to the youth and empowering them through promotion of merit in all spheres of life. He pointed out that the nature had bestowed Pakistan with treasure trove containing huge reservoirs of coals and gold which can change fate of the country, adding that honest and devoted leadership was needed to execute such initiatives and fetch foreign investment in the power and mining sector to offset prevailing crises and eliminate poverty and ignorance.

While criticizing dictatorial era, Hamza Shahbaz argued that the country had spent $10 billion on war against terrorism over the last ten years which could have taken the country to height of prosperity and development had spent on education, vocational training, health and infrastructure. He pinned his hope on 64 percent youth of the country’s population for the bright future of the country. “Despite rampant corruption in PIA, Railways, Pakistan Steel Mills, OGRA, NICL and other national entities, i am optimistic that the youth will steer the country out of crises and put it on the path to prosperity,” Hamza expressed.

During the ceremony, evening students of the UAF and GCUF were awarded with laptops and internship letters were handed over thousands of internees belong to Faisalabad Division.

UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad, GCUF VC Dr Zakir Hussain, MNA Abid Sher Ali, Chaudhry Asim Nazir, cricketer Saeed Ajmal and score of political activists participated in the ceremony. Later, a contingent of the Punjab Police presented ‘Guard of Honour’ to the recipients of laptops and Internship letters.
