Peshawar  - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar on Thursday claimed there were some elements in Punjab that were backing terrorists. Talking to reporters, the governor said the Punjab government never denied contacts with extremists and the time had come that it must go all out against them in the province.The governor said that had extremists not existed in Punjab, the term Punjabi Taliban would not have been coined.Kausar said that statements of Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry were not a sign of confrontation, stressing that Army’s role was vital to keep afloat the democratic process.
