ISLAMABAD – The Roots International Schools held the Opening ceremony of the largest Youth Model United Nations Conference RYMUN’12 at a local hotel on Thursday.

Mir Changez Khan Jamali, Minister of Science and Technology, honoured the occasion while Manzar Khursheed Sheikh, President RCCI, Hasrul Sain Bin Mujtabar, High Commissioner of Malaysia, and Daurewoo, High Commissioner of Mauritius as the chief guests, says a press release issued here.

The RYMUN is an academic technique of representing the real UN work that aims to educate participants about the current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the UN agenda.

What makes the RYMUN’12 different from other MUNs is the introduction of the General Assembly Session for the first time in the history of MUNs.

This year the RYMUN also had the privilege of having international delegates as part of our conference.

In his remarks on this occasion CEO Roots International Schools, Mushtaq, said that he believes in the holistic development of students with latest academic, social approaches and global exposure. He applauded the unprecedented zeal, enthusiasm and positivity that all the delegates brought to this conference.

Roots College International aims not only at excellent academics but also in improving the leadership qualities of students and bringing awareness about global issues, letting the students to analyze and criticize these issues, therefore, the RYMUN hosted by Roots College International, Metropolitan Campus, G-8 Islamabad.

The opening ceremony included memorizing performances by the students of Roots depicting and highlighting the different colors of different cultures. These depictions included the Russian, German and Sri Lankan cultures.
