At least 11 persons including three women and baby girl died in separate road accidents occurred in different areas over the past 48 hours.
In Chitral, three persons - two women and a man - died and four others sustained injuries in a road accident in Reech village, Upper Chitral on Sunday.
District Police Officer Chitral Abbas Majeed Marwat said that the accident occurred when a passenger jeep on the way Ruwa village from Soor Reech fell into a deep ravine. As a result three persons including two women died on the spot and four others injured who were shifted to RHC Shahgram. The DPO said that the accident occurred due to the negligence of the driver.
The road across the Reech Valley is very dangerous as there is no protective wall or parapet on its edge towards river though it passes through Torkoh River.
In Sialkot, two motorcyclists were killed and the third injured when a speeding tractor-trolley hit a bike near Sabzi Mandi on main Eimanabad-Sialkot Road on Sunday.
Both Waqas and Nasir died on the spot and Mohsin Inayat sustained serious injuries. Rescue 1122 Sialkot shifted the dead bodies and the injured to Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial DHQ/Teaching Hospital Sialkot for autopsy. The police have registered a case against runaway tractor driver.
In Hafizabad, two students were killed and another injured when a truck hit their bike near Bahu Maan village on Pindi Bhattian-Sukheke Road. Rescue sources said that three students - Qasim Ali, Ali Hassan and Pando Masih of Sukheke Mandi were on way to their village when the accident occurred. They got critically injured and were shifted to Allied Hospital Faisalabad where Qasim and Ali breathed their last.
In another accident, a youth identified as Samiullah along with his uncle Abdul Hameed was on the way to Seeray village on a bike. On Vanike Road, a speeding tractor-trolley hit the bike, killing Abdul Hameed on the spot. Sami, however, sustained injuries and was taken to hospital. The tractor-trolley driver fled away from the scene.
Similarly, in village Sultanpura a youth namely Bashir Ahmad committed suicide by hanging himself over domestic affairs. He had an altercation with his parents which offended him. As a result he ended his life by hanged himself.
In Kasur, a woman and a one and half-year-old girl were killed in two road accidents on Sunday.
The baby girl was killed when a speeding tractor crushed her while playing outside her house in Guru-Ke area. In another accident, a speeding car hit a motorcycle, killing a woman while motorcyclist Amir sustained injuries. The police have registered two separate cases.
