LAHORE - A young woman yesterday was found hanged at a house in Sabzazar area.

Police identified the 22-year-old as Aniza Latif, a resident of Kasur district. The lady was living at her relatives’ house in Qazi Town where she ended her life. The motives behind the suicide were not clear yet.

According to her relatives, Aniza went to the bedroom, locked it from inside, and committed suicide by hanging herself with the ceiling. A police investigator said the body was hanging from the ceiling fan with a rope tied to her neck as they entered the room.

Police sources said that the investigators also seized a pistol and a few bullets from the scene. The area police handed over the body to the family without autopsy.


A 35-year-old man, who was admitted to a hospital with bullet wounds the other day, died there yesterday.

Police said Ahsan Raza Naqvi was shot by his relatives over some dispute. Raza was standing outside his house in Jahanzaib Block when four gunmen opened straight fire at him on Sunday. He was rushed to hospital with multiple wounds.

According to the victim’s family, Goga Shah along with his three accomplices targeted Raza after an altercation. The killers are still are large. The police removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy. Further investigations were underway.


City police yesterday arrested two robbers involved in street crimes and seized three bikes, five mobile phones, and two pistols from their possession.

A team of Data Darbar police arrested Amanat Ali and Asghar Ali during a successful raid. According to police, the bandits were wanted to the police in several cases of street robberies. Further investigations were underway.




Police arrested at least eight men as they raided a gambling den in the limits of Islampura police. The police also seized cash and cards from the scene. All the eight gamblers were put behind the bras after the police filed a criminal case against them.
