Court extends physical remand of MPA Awais in Jokhio murder case

KARACHI   -  The court extended the physical remand of the accused PPP MPA Jam Awais Gohram and three others on Monday in the Nazim Jokhio murder case.

Police produced accused MPA Awais along with other suspects before a local court in Karachi amid very tight security.

The investigation officer told the court that two suspects were on the run. He requested the court to extend the physical remand of the arrested accused as police wanted to retrieve information from them regarding the whereabouts of the two missing suspects.

On this, the court extended the physical remand of the accused for another three days.

The court also summoned a progress report on the next hearing.

Slain Nazim Jokhio was allegedly tortured to death and his tortured body was found from the farmhouse of MPA Awais at Malir, Mamon Goth.

A few days ago, Nazim Jokhio had indulged in an argument with some foreigners who were friends of MPA Awais and they were illegally hunting the endangered houbara bustard. When Nazim Jokhio stopped them from illegal hunting and they refused, he made the video of their hunting and uploaded it on social media.

Nazim started receiving threatening calls and he was asked to delete the video. After some time, he was kidnapped and his tortured body was found at a farmhouse belonged to MPA Awais. The relatives of slain Nazim Jokhio nominated MPA Jam Awais Gohram in his murder case.
