RAWALPINDI - Police in Pindi after receiving telephonic calls from unidentified persons regarding bomb at Army Public School and entrance of explosive-laden vehicle in the city, beefed up security in the area while the law enforcers also recovered cache of arms from a vehicle near Swan Adda on Wednesday. These rumours created wave of panic among the residents while the law enforcement agencies remained engaged to avert any untoward situation in the city. The Civil Lines Police was informed by an identified person on telephone that a bomb had been planted in the Army Public School. After receiving the telephone call, bomb disposal squad reached the school and declared it clear from any explosive material after complete screening of the school. Police have started investigation to track down the culprit who made this hoax call and created panic among the citizens. Earlier, police was also informed that an explosive-laden ambulance had entered in the city. After this information, police tightened the security arrangements to trace the ambulance. Meanwhile, police seized a heavy cache of arms near Swan Adda and arrested two persons in this regard. During the high alert due to the telephonic threats, police halted a vehicle (LSK-6149) near Swan Adda and recovered two rifles of 8 MM, its 20 cartridges, two repeater guns, 21 bullets and pistol. Police also arrested two accused Abdul Latif and Sarfraz Khan, residents of Chakwal and a case has been registered with the Civil Line police while further investigations are underway.
