A high level meeting of countrys top leadership is being convened soon to discuss the Kerry Lugar bill and its implications, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said Friday. The president, myself, the army chief and the foreign minister will hold a meeting immediately, the prime minister said when asked by media about the controversy sparked by the US legislation, under which Pakistan will get aid of US 1.5 billion dollars annually, for the next five years. Talking to reporters here at the capital of Azad Jammu Kashmir, the prime minister said the foreign minister has been summoned back from the United States to respond to the queries being raised by the elected representatives in the National Assembly. Responding to questions about the various controversial clauses of the bill the prime minister said parliament was sovereign and powerful and the right forum to discuss all important national issues. He said all elected representatives should express their views and discuss the matter threadbare. Gilani however regretted that the people were making comments about the bill, without even reading it.
