JK Rowling explains tweet riddle

California: The author sent fans into a spin when she tweeted an anagram - “Cry, foe! Run amok! Fa awry! My wand won’t tolerate this nonsense” - which some fans thought referred to the return of the boy wizard. But the author has now cleared it up, and confirmed that it doesn’t mean Harry will be back, but that it referred to the upcoming spin-off Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. The new film was inspired by Rowling’s 2001 fictitious wizard textbook of the same name and will be about its fictional author, a “magizoologist” named Newt Scamander. After the author shared the mysterious message, fans started trying to work it out and the author dropped various hints. One follower eventually stumbled upon the right answer, and tweeted: “@jk_rowling Newt Scamander only meant to stay in New York for a few hours... #anagram.”–BTG
