ISLAMABAD - Former Pakistan No 1 female tennis player Sarah Mehboob Khan added another feather to her cap as she partnering Kimmy Herrock clinched the Hokie Fall Invitational Flight-C Doubles Championship title at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Sarah, daughter of country’s top tennis coach Mehboob Khan, is in US on university scholarship, where she is playing in competitive events for the last two years or so.

Talking to The Nation from US, Sarah said: “It was always a pleasure for me to represent Pakistan whenever they required my services. In the past, I had too offered my availability to play in the Fed Cup and any other international events where my country needs me.”

“I am enjoying playing tennis in US. I had played in number of events in the past and helped my university win laurels. We had defeated some of the big names in the past too and this time, it was a very tough final against top pair of Taylor Fay/Natalie Sayer, who raced on to take 4-0 lead.

“We were almost down and out, but we staged a good comeback to lift the title. First we leveled the score 4-4 and then went onto take the final 8-6. It was a great feeling to help my university - New Mexico University - land the title,” Sarah concluded.
