LAHORE - Punjab Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal has directed the district coordination officers (DCOs) of Rawalpindi and Multan to utilise all resources for dengue control in their districts.

He was presiding over a meeting to review dengue situation in Rawalpindi and Multan, at Civil Secretariat here on Thursday.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that 100 percent implementation of the anti-dengue plan should be ensured, adding that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.

He directed that all relevant departments should work for eradication of dengue on war footing. He mentioned that focus should be made especially on indoor and outdoor surveillance for getting desired results.

DCOs of Rawalpindi and Multan gave detailed briefing through video link about the anti-dengue activities being carried out in their districts. The meeting was attended by Secretary Health, Secretary Local Government and officers concerned.

Meanwhile, Secretary Health Jawad Rafiq Malik has constituted a committee to probe death of two children due to reaction of measles vaccination in Hasilpur, district Bahawalpur.

Head of Pediatrics Department Nishter Hospital Multan Prof Qasim Khichi, representative of WHO Dr Mazhar-ul-Haq, representative of UNICEF Dr Rana Mushtaq and Additional Director EPI Dr Sohail are members of the committee. Committee members left for Bahawalpur on Thursday and will submit report to the Secretary Health today (Friday).

PU exams schedule

The Punjab University Examinations Department has issued the schedule for submission of admission fee & forms for BBA (Hons) first, second & third year annual examination 2015.

The last date for submission of admission forms for said exams with single fee is 21-10-15 while the forms can be submitted with double fee till 28-10-15. Detailed schedule is also available at PU website
