Wah cantt - Tomas Kuchta, Czech Republic deputy defence minister/head of the industrial cooperation and organization management division, along with an official delegation visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories yesterday.
On arrival at POF, the Czech Republic deputy defence minister was received by Chairman POF Board, Lt Gen Omar Mahmood Hayat, HI(M). The chairman in his welcoming remarks told the delegation that POF is the premier defence organisation of the country which is not only meeting defence requirement of the Armed Forces of Pakistan but also exporting its products to more than 30 countries around the globe. He further remarked that Pakistan and Czech Republic are enjoying deep-rooted defence ties since long which need to be further strengthened.
Director Exports, Usman Ali Bhatti in his detailed briefing told the delegation that POF is a gigantic complex with 14 factories, 11 subsidiaries and total work force is more than 24,000. The POFs industrial base is strong enough to undertake development and production of almost all types of conventional arms and ammunition.
The delegation visited POF product display lounges. Later they were taken to some production units. The delegation showed keen interest in POF arms and ammunition and lauded the high quality of POF products.
