KARACHI: Twenty two of the dozens of persons, who had stormed offices of two media houses in August, are revealed to be regular employees of the government.

A police official said that they were employees of Karachi Port Trust, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and different banks.

He said five persons, including two KMC employees, have been arrested and letters have been issued to the banks and departments concerned to handover their employees involved in the violence.

Law enforcers have identified 22 suspects with help of different CCTV footages from the archives of August 22.

On August 22, offices of two private television channels were attacked in Karachi while their property vandalised by activists of Muttahida Qaumi Movement as they were triggered by founder of the political party, Altaf Hussain in an address.
