KASUR/VEHARI-The district administration and police have made all-out arrangements to ensure peace and avert any unpleasant incident during Ashura-e-Haram.

DCO Ammara Khan stated at a peace convention held here at Kasur Press Club the other day. She said that it is due to the effective security measures that all the proceedings are being carried out peacefully, adding no one will be allowed to sabotage the peaceful atmosphere of the district and trouble makers will be dealt with an iron hand.

DPO Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that Kasur Police are always ready to protect life, honour and property of the common man and every police personnel is committed to discharge this noble duty with missionary zeal. The DPO also expressed gratitude to the mediamen for the cooperation in maintaining peace and intersect harmony across the district.

District Officer (Information) Abdul Wahid Ch, Excise and Taxation Officer Malik Aslam, DSP (city) Abdul Qayyum Gondal, Union of Journalists President Ata Muhammad Kasuri and civil society members were also present on the occasion.

In Vehari, Assistant Commissioner Syed Asif Hussain Shah said that respecting others’ beliefs is necessary for peace in a society. The AC stated during a press conference held here to apprise media about the measures taken for Muharram security.

On the occasion, DSP (Saddr) Imran Rasheed said that all-out efforts are being made for security of Majalis and mourning processions, adding the suspects are also being monitored through CCTV cameras. He said that traffic will not be allowed on the processions routes on Ashura days.

TMO Mian Azhar, DHQ Hospital MS Dr Abrar, Civil Defence Officer Younis Anjum and Peace Committee members Rao Khalil, Abbas Jaffery, Hafiz Habibur Rehman were also present on the occasion.
