I have faced a lot of heart breaks and was highly frustrated as being the leading run-scorer and also wicket-taker, but I was completely ignored in the regional team and nor even considered for U-19.

“I am grateful to M Wasim, who is my mentor and coaching me for the last six months. I have learnt a lot from him and just because of his trust, I was selected in the Imran Nazir Academy, which is participating in the 5-nation Academy Tournament in UAE. Wasim worked very hard on my technique and helped me overcome flaws in my batting,” he added.

Former opening batsman Imran Nazir termed his team’s performance as highly satisfactory saying each and every individual contributed in the best possible manner. “The boys are highly determined and looking forward to take the coveted trophy to Pakistan. We have picked a very balanced group of players starting from U-19 to former Test players like Rana Naved. Youngster Ali Imran also contributed very well and I hope with his superb performances, he will be able to make his way to the national team.”
